Texas Tuesday: the MOP Moving Right Along

A westbound MOP piggyback (well, actually UP at this point) is moving right along through Terrell, Texas in the spring of 1985.

Anybody know if these were the last GEs received by the MOP prior to the UP merger?

I thought the last GE's were the C-36's ?

Yup, I'd forgotten about them.  Delivered in yellow paint.

Nice photo. Always liked the GEs in solid colors.

True but the C36-7 were after the MP lost it's Independence.  The 4800 B30-7A's were the last delivered in blue to the independent MP.  Last EMD's were 25 MP15's and 25 GP15AC's (Alternator equipped GP15-1's although oddly enough, the MP15's were DC's)

If I recall correctly, the C36-7's were delivered in November/December of 1985 and the MP was folded into the UP on 1/1/86.
