Nostalgia & History > Last non-D&H Pa's?Date: 07/16/17 10:37 Last non-D&H Pa's? Author: SD80MACfan What was the last railroad to use the Alco PA locomotives in regular service? We all know the story about the D&H being the last US railroad to run them, but what about before the D&H owned theirs?

Author: lynnpowell Actually, when the D&H was done with the PAs, they leased them to the MBTA in Boston, where they pulled commuter trains for perhaps a year. It was while they were in use by the MBTA that they got sold to Mexico.

( and of course they ran after the D&H stopped using them, in commuter service on MBTA). Date: 07/16/17 16:37 Re: Last non-D&H Pa's? Author: Lackawanna484 EL numbers were in the 850 to 863 block.

The D&H PA's lasted for years after the EL got rid of their PA's. In fact the D&H PA's lasted longer then the EL itself. |
