Nostalgia & History > A quiet Sunday afternoon in Tracy 1961Date: 07/27/17 20:45 A quiet Sunday afternoon in Tracy 1961 Author: photobob When things were a little simpler a teenager and his Dad could roam freely through the Tracy Engine Facility.

When new, as the 5800's they worked the Coast piggyback trains, then into local service including serving the many SF Peninsula industries, then to Southern California, briefly back up north, and finally banned to the East. Pretty sure both of them are there - the one over the other number board is just hard to see from this angle. Separate bulbs for each color didn't come about until the Century-series locomotives. |
