Nostalgia & History > Parking for crew callers onlyDate: 07/29/17 20:35 Parking for crew callers only Author: photobob Crew callers back in 1959 had their own parking place on Dunsmuir Ave. The "Klamath" sits in the depot during its 45min stop so passengers could get a hardy meal at Mottos while the mail was being worked. The Best Water on earth sign holder now resides at Railroad Park with a piece of yellow plastic stating opening times for the bar & restaurant. I have no idea what happened to the Best Water on Earth sign. The nice little park is now an asphalt parking lot and the mail train no longer exists. oh well progress is inevitable. This location is all crap now.

That's why it has different sized lettering if it were that way all would be bold lettering. Perhaps the railway wanted to have a designated parking spot to save the caller time when they returned?
