Some Santa Fe Power and Trains

1. AT&SF B40-8W 558 7 mi. east of Tehachapi, CA leaving the hills for the desert on October 30, 1994. She became BNSF 558.

2. AT&SF GP30u 2767 and GP35u 2925 at Fresno, CA on March 7, 1994.

3. AT&SF GP40Xs 3808 and 3802 at Galesburg, IL on June 17, 1978.

4. AT&SF GP50 3839 leading crossing the Merced River, Cressey, CA on June 24, 1994.

5. and 6. AT&SF SD40-2u 5021 and SD45-2u 5830 west of Martinez, CA on September 11, 1991 with a short shooter.

No. 1 looks like the 991 and it's possible (1 in ? chance that John Lester was the conductor on the Bakersfield-Needles long pool.

Regarding photo #4, it is impossible to get a photo like that at Cressey any more, as the trees between the bridge and the highway have grown so tall that they almost completely hide the bridge.
