That location is just northeast of Walbridge Tower southbound on the old Toledo Terminal. It likely is a transfer run to Stanley Yard. I often shot at the location in the 90's.

Definitely like the photos. D&TSL's diesel roster consisted of ten GP7s and 3 SW7s. The D&TSL dated back to the 1903 timeframe. It was jointly owned by and GTW and N&W until 1981. N&W shares had passed to it from NKP that had in turn received theirs from the Clover Leaf. The road was folded into the GTW after they acquired N&W's share.

Wonderful to see these images of the D&TSL. The road has a special spot in my family's history through a Shore Line traffic manager who was a close business friend of my dad's for many years. They did a lot of business together, but they also had a great personal relationship, which extended to the rest of my family. You remember people like that who are far more than just business contacts.

Nice shots of a very interesting road, one I wish I had fanned a long time ago.
I recall some fans from the area calling it the Detroit and Toledo Short Line.
What a maze of power lines in that first photo!

Was the Detroit Toledo Shore Line a bridge road or an interline carrier, or both?
