In between Turns, it was used around Joliet on some industrial or yard switching jobs. zr190 Date: 10/16/17 06:14 Re: Maroon Monday - Rock Island 1265 Author: Bob3985 Ah yes, the venerable ole 1265. I rode that locomotive so may times on the Bureau turn working with "Red" and Harry.
It was a reliable locomotive as it performed its weekday duties reliably. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 10/16/17 11:59 Re: Maroon Monday - Rock Island 1265 Author: krm152 An interesting photo with a lot of railroading in it.

Red, Harry and the 1265 were part of many summer days in Utica for this young railfan. She was the first road engine I ever rode on (prior to that my only cab rides were on the SW assigned to the Utica switcher). Thanks to the Bobs (Refarkas and Krieger) for bringing back the great memories! NZ Date: 10/16/17 16:44 Re: Maroon Monday - Rock Island 1265 Author: SP8595 Great shot! Strange looking first car.
