Nostalgia & History > F unit Friday - KCS at Winnsboro,Tx -- Nov 81Date: 10/20/17 07:45 F unit Friday - KCS at Winnsboro,Tx -- Nov 81 Author: gcm On the KCS Louisiana & Arkansas line, 6 F units (2 slugs) pass the station at Winnsboro,Tx working between Pittsburg and Sulphur Springs (NE Texas) heading west.
Along with a few cars for local work most of the consist was empty coal cars picked up outside Pittsburg (after dropping off loaded coal cars, interchanging with the electric line from the power plant). The coal cars will be delivered to a coal mine at Thermo? then the engines will tie up at the Sulphur Springs station. The KCS used mostly F units on this train at the time.
