NCL = North Coast Limited in Northern Pacific colors. Montana at its finest! Bruce at his "2nd home".

Bruce talked numerous times about retiring from the Post Office and moving to Montana but never did before his passing in February 2014.

Now this is a real passenger train (Amtrak take note...) I'm ready for my Great Big Baked Potato in the diner for tonight's dinner!

Thanks for sharing...

Note how the NP Monad emblem on the front of the unit is already gone.

Up until May 1961 a traveler in Seattle headed for some place like Missoula or Miles City would have to make the difficult decision to book space on the Milwaukee's Olympian Hiawatha or the NP's North Coast Limited.

Yet another huge "attaboy" for Bruce! A beautiful passenger train over trackage I worked over several times during my stint with MRL. Countless times I tried to imagine what an NP passenger Trina looked like in these canyons. Thanks Vince, with Bruce's photo you made my day...

those NP shields, GN emblems on the sd40's and the q logos went quick after the merger.
