Last Of The 1988 SP Louisiana Stuff, Amtrak #2 With GE's

I really didn't mind hearing all the nice SP old cast P3 horns blowing for all the crossings in my previous
1988 Louisiana postings, however when the horn sounds crappy, it can be rather annoying!

Case in point, Amtrak #2, the eastbound Sunset Limited passing through eastern Lafayette with terrible
sounding new cast Nathan P5 horn.

Interesting consist- I wonder how the ATSF lounge (later PPC) ended up out there?  Usually, in those days, they were handed off to the Eagle at San Antonio and never went through to New Orleans.

I fail to see how Nathan could market something like that. It so far out of tune, it's not even music! Jack Swensdon (sp.?) must have had cotton in his ears!
