Nostalgia & History > Lone Star fueling at Temple,Tx -- March 78Date: 11/21/17 13:16 Lone Star fueling at Temple,Tx -- March 78 Author: gcm #16 the northbound Lone Star is being fueled at the recently constructed fueling station in Temple,Tx.
The Santa Fe station and many passengers are just out of sight to my left. No boarding till the fueling is completed. The train will then move about 200-300 ft to board passengers. Old Santa Fe RR conductors and head brakemen on that passenger train, based at Temple and worked Temple-Cleburne-Houston-Temple. Tail end brakemen, based at Galveston, TX and worked to and from Cleburne, TX. Temple based engine crews worked between Cleburne and Houston, TX.
