Here are two freight cars for Freight Car Friday.
Image one: HTTX 93031 is in Decatur, Illinois on March 28, 1978.
Image two: C&NW 135799 is in Akron, Ohio in Summer 1978. It is hard to imagine it was manufactured two years before, yet the paint looks new and is untagged.

Beautiful shot of the CNW 135799, if you didn't give a date, I'd say that was on its maiden voyage west. Not a speck of dirt to be found!

Beautiful picture of a unique car. Was this car ever offered in HO scale as a Ready-To-Run or as a kit?

It was offered through the Chicago & North Western Historical Society last year. It is no longer listed on the website as I believe they are essentially sold out. There might be one or two left.

The C&NW hopper was so clean that I checked the Kodak processing date three times!
