Another whereisit ?!?

Do you know where this old spur was located ?
I took this picture in 2004 and have gone back
and had a difficult time recognizing the area.

Its all gone now !

Thanks for looking

Jay

If that area code on the for sale sign is really 218, then this is likely northern Minnesota

As of this writing, I suspect the answer is the name of the image file.

Ding-ding-ding...we have a winner, South Lake Union area of
Seattle !

No tracks remain of this former Northern Pacific Spur and in 2004
was ALMOST complete to where I was standing at Terry St. and John Ave.
I think this may now be part of the (evil) AMAZON campus ?

After a while I almost did not remember where I had taken this shot !

Is that a three-way switch ahead in the shadow?
I hope someone has an NP action shot on this cool line.

The wheel chocks on the left seem to be protecting no track.

Street spurs like this one are always interesting;
thanks for posting this excellent photo.

No, it's a lap switch.

I don't believe its an Amazon campus but there has been (and continues to be) a lot of redevelopment in that area...old buildings going down and new modern buildings going up. A section of the spur remained in the street until late in 2016. Short sections of industry track remained but they are probably gone too.

I believe this was the spur that served the Sealle Times’ print plant.

There was a series of photos posted about the trackage around the south side of Lake Union a really long time ago. It was a fairly extensive set of photos showing some of the industrial spots, I believe the topic of the old power house was included. Not sure what the search word would be.

+ ok, made the same mistake twice but at least I'm consistent enough that the Search function found it:

The story was on Jim Lancaster's website:

With a link to extensive photos here:

A lot of local info on this TO post:
