Bob Date: 12/07/17 12:34 Re: Erie Pa NKP Train #6 City Of Cleveland 7-10-56 Author: PasadenaSub Very nice treasures! And just one number off from Doyle's PA.
Not to mention steam hauling piggybacks in the last photo. Rich Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/07/17 12:36 by PasadenaSub. So what other railroad other than NYC used Union Station?

I think the Pennsy was the other railroad that used it. Date: 12/07/17 13:30 Re: Erie Pa NKP Train #6 City Of Cleveland 7-10-56 Author: krm152 Those are CLASSICS beyond a doubt.
ALLEN Date: 12/07/17 13:41 Re: Erie Pa NKP Train #6 City Of Cleveland 7-10-56 Author: halfmoonharold The Berk shot appears to be looking toward the west end of Cascade.

PRR - that was the terminal for the Erie-Harrisburg-Philadelphia-New York City route Date: 12/07/17 14:41 Re: Erie Pa NKP Train #6 City Of Cleveland 7-10-56 Author: millerdc Don't see many photos of NKP passenger trains.
The PRR run to NYC from Erie must not have had many thru passengers with that routing. Date: 12/07/17 17:02 Re: Erie Pa NKP Train #6 City Of Cleveland 7-10-56 Author: cabsignaldrop We don't see much Nickel Plate stuff...that's for posting.
Posted from Android Date: 12/07/17 17:33 Re: Erie Pa NKP Train #6 City Of Cleveland 7-10-56 Author: jimeng Beautiful photos PRRFan. This is exactly the location and era where I grew up.
In the first shot the 189 is passing the freight house as it accelerates eastbound away from the station, about to cross Parade St. The 771 appears to be heading westbound with Cascade, and Greengarden Road, in the background as has been pointed out by halfmoonharold. The westbound passing track is in the foreground. Jim Kreider Date: 12/07/17 20:24 Re: Erie Pa NKP Train #6 City Of Cleveland 7-10-56 Author: RuleG As I hardly ever see photos of the Nickel Plate in Erie these photos, particularly the second, are greatly appreciated.
The Nickel Plate tracks and depot are gone. Nickel Plate Mills, a pet food store located at Parade and 20th Street carry on the memory of the railroad. For anyone wanting to see what the depot area looks like today on Google Street View, go to 19th Street between German and Holland streets. Conneaut, OH based engine crews worked to and from Buffalo, NY.
