It is interesting that they used a drag line instead of a clamshell bucket
to coal the engine. This is a first for me also.

The third photo looks like the engineer and conductor are conferring and approaching them is a guy who looks very much like a trainmaster.

About four weeks after this photo was taken, the 4960 was at Savanna, IL,
pulling passenger and freight trains through a low spot where the flooding
Mississippi River was over the rails to the point that diesels with their
low hanging traction motors could not pass through the low spot. A bit
later, all traffic to the Twin Cities was being rerouted over the CNW
through Eau Claire, WI.
