Nostalgia & History > Iconic Reading Railroad ImageDate: 01/12/18 17:13 Iconic Reading Railroad Image Author: RDG630 February 7, 1976 Abrams Yard near Bridgeport, Pa. Knowing that the Reading would be swallowed up by Conrail April 1, 1976 I made am effort to capture on film as much of the Reading as possible. One of my favorite images is this pair of EMD GP39-2's westbound with a little snow on the ground under the big signal bridge at Abrams. Spent many a day there until moving away from home in the mid 1960's. The signal bridge was torn down by Conrail a few years later but the GP39-2's still toil for CSX.
