More BN commuter Es + an F!
Author: santafe199

While rounding up Kodachrome slides of my ‘79 BN rodeo in Aurora, IL for TO member “gcm” I herded a few extra head into the scanner. Here is the last of those stray dogies, a couple more E-unit shots plus a rather large F-unit. A big brawny 3600 horse F with boxy EMD lines…

1. BN 9919 & 9918 sit in the bowels of Chicago Union Station after inbound (push-mode) arrivals.
Photo date: April 24, 1979.

2. BN 9904 has company on its left flank in the form of AMTK 527 & train #15, the “Lone Star”. Since 1979 there have been some major alterations to this scene just south of Chicago Union Station. Heck, it’s only been 39 years…
Photo date: July 31, 1979.

3. BN F45 6601 sits idle in Denver, CO, quietly anticipating its next adventure.
Photo date: November 18, 1979.

Thanks for looking back!

The 9919 became BN-3 and only made one trip on a Officers special to Winter park with BN-1 and BN-2. I was told it was smoking so bad that it was making the train filthy so they shut it down.
