Author: slacks My old Instamatic couldn't,t deal with dark skies. This wb train with the usual UP-SP consist was headed to the junkbox until I noticed the number of the SP SD-45. 9500 was actually a rare SD-45X , one of only a handfull on the SP roster. Only time I ever saw one, don,t think they lasted that long! Anyone with a better shot, please post. Thanks. Cheyenne Wyo 1976.

They purchased three demonstrators ex EMD #4201 - #4203 that were renumbered SP #9503 - #9505. So both slacks' photo of #9500 and Valmont's photo of #9501 are from the three units purchased new.
