Nostalgia & History > "A Clean Diner is a Safe Diner." MOP!Date: 03/09/18 07:55 "A Clean Diner is a Safe Diner." MOP! Author: Hou74-76 A word to train interior car photo enthusiasts. you can see more of my color photos if you search Static Photography for the author, "steamcar." That was my old user name a while back.
For this thread, Mop's train from and to Palestine, Texas was laying over at Houston Union Station as was usual in 1967, with a coach, 14/4 Pullman and a diner-coach. The first photo shows the consist parked with diner-coach #580 on the end. I love those portholes on Mop cars. Off to the left is the Santa Fe, "California Special" with an all vintage Budd consist. The kitchen interior had a couple of pithy safety quotes to remind and instill in employees a rigorous adherence to safety. One of the plaques says, A Clean Diner is a Safe Diner. Well, they made safely to Houston on-time with a few pieces of soggy toast left behind for the car cleaner. Date: 03/09/18 11:12 Re: "A Clean Diner is a Safe Diner." MOP! In that photo you can make out some of the furnishings. I have seen very detailed color photos on other photo sites. Try a Google search.
