Here are some more photos from my June 1982 Chicago trip. This installment features photos of Family Lines and Missouri Pacific locomotives at Dolton, IL.

I have always noticed that MoPac never seemed to own locomotives with dynamic brakes. Probably no significant grades of considerable length on the system.

Thanks for the shots at Dolton. Brings back memories of a couple summers in college in the late 60's when I worked on the track crew that built the "new" yard. That is where I learned that it is better to handle a spike maul than a tamping bar. I can still spike pretty well and I still hate a tamping bar.

Yard Center was also a railfan-friendly place. No one ever said a word about taking photos....
