Does Anyone Remember When "UP" Spelled Variety?

Even now the Union Pacific has the most the varied roster on this side of the great pond. But there was a time when UP meant true variety.. Here is a smattering of images that will take us back to time when you could go “locomotive hunting" and there was a true variation of builders and models... Here is a sample,enjoy! What a treasure house of variety!
The pilot on UP 605 looks awful. What a way to uglify a beautiful locomotive.

The first photo is definitely Salt Lake City with the capitol dome up on Capitol Hill and the Wasatch Mountains in the background.
