Fairly late model chevy as well, maybe 70 or so.

OR Author: BobB I suspect that you mean St. Helens, Oregon, which was (and is) a major location on the former SP&S Astoria line, now operated by the Portland and Western. While there is a St. Helens, Washington, it's on the road to Spirit Lake at the base of Mt. St. Helens and, so far as I know, never had rail service. It's a good picture just the same.

Thanks, you are correct, I will correct my error Date: 03/19/18 10:06 Re: DD+(2): Oakley, KS, Barstow, Prineville Jct. OR Author: BarstowRiff Wow - add Oakley, Kansas to the short list of Art Moderne stations. UP had one other (that I'm aware of), Las Vegas, Nevada. Rio Grande had Salida, CO, and Santa Fe had the largest (albeit without tracks), San Francisco, CA. The only one still standing (and in use) that I know of is the C&O station at Prince, WV, still served by Amtrak. Any others?

Oakley KS still showing up on Google Earth with a couple UP units parked nearby, didn't look boarded up Date: 03/19/18 13:30 Re: DD+(2): Oakley, KS, Barstow, Prineville Jct. OR Author: RedFusee Date: 03/19/18 14:23 Re: DD+(2): Oakley, KS, Barstow, Prineville Jct. OR Author: BarstowRiff Looks to be in good shape - just needs a little TLC. Its a shame that the beautiful Las Vegas station was torn down for the mess that is there now. The AT&SF San Francisco station was torn down and replaced by a parking garage. The problem with Streamline Moderne stations was that they were all built during the 1931 to 1941 window and were not deemed old enough to warrant historical status. They would now due to their architectural significance. Oakley is a perfect example of this style and a real find.

I came across one such station in Huntington, WV when I rode the New River Train. Date: 03/19/18 17:53 Re: DD+(2): Oakley, KS, Barstow, Prineville Jct. OR Author: GPutz How about Azusa, California, 7/2/99? On Google Earth it appears to be across the BNSF track from the Gold Line station. Gerry

Date: 03/19/18 18:50 Re: DD+(2): Oakley, KS, Barstow, Prineville Jct. OR Author: rrpreservation The Deer Lodge depot photo seems to show another depot in the background. Does anyone know if that is the case?
Thanks! Date: 03/19/18 18:58 Re: DD+(2): Oakley, KS, Barstow, Prineville Jct. OR Author: fbe The brown station was for the NP.
Here in 2018 both those depots still stand. The MILW depot is a church and the NP is a senior citizens center and has been moved back from the BNSF row. Date: 03/19/18 19:22 Re: DD+(2): Oakley, KS, Barstow, Prineville Jct. OR Author: valmont rrpreservation Wrote:
