NYC 4019 and Penn Central 5769 are two of the locomotives at Penn Central's engine facility at Collinwood Yard in Cleveland, Ohio on November 16, 1968.

Holy cow. Talk about a photo with awesome quality. This is so so cool. PC, NYC and another NYC green paint version all in 1 photo is very very nice.

Green? You mean the E7? Could just as well be NYC passenger gray.

One NYC E7 or E8 was painted in NYC jade green like their freight cars prior to the PC merger but I do not know which number it was....

I never realized some of these units made it to green - looking into it E8s 4053, 4083 and E7B 4108 were the lucky units. There are a number of photos online, one showing all three together.

NYC contemporaneously experimented with an all black version on at least one E-Unit #4055 as well.
(prophetically the freight "cigar band" scheme sans white stripe almost identical to the PC's doomsday end of time version )
