Fantastic sharpness in these photos--B&W is great stuff. But these are superb!

The Western Maryland was such a great little RR. It reminds me of the Western Pacific out west. Smaller--had to hustle--did a great job--employees loved their company--everyone is now sad to see them both gone.

WOW!!, these are all great photos of the beloved Western Maryland. In your first photo, the F-unit #236 happens to be the one that has been saved and is in the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore. It used to operate from time to time but was told that it is out of service right now.
Back in 1973 I rode an excursion trip from Baltimore and the #236 was one of the two F units pulling that train. Those were great times.
