Nostalgia & History > SP Train !9 the "Klamath"at Small Siding 1961Date: 04/25/18 19:01 SP Train !9 the "Klamath"at Small Siding 1961 Author: photobob Before the days of drones if you wanted an aerial of a train you hiked up to a high spot and looked down on the tracks. Case in point the view down from the "Wall" overlooking Small Siding. The location Im standing on is about 3/12 miles from where the train first passed me. Train 19 this day is lead by a couple of PA's 6016 & 6036. This one is for Dave Maffei who insisted I post a photo an SP passenger train today. Well Dave you can always wander over to the Novato Station and watch what is considered to be a passenger train today.

Trains 19 & 20 were among my favorites, especially before SP spilled all of that gray paint over the PAs' #20 would often meet #11, the "Cascade," also equipped with Daylight-painted PAs, at Labish, Oregon, which was nearby to where I lived during my teens. Good memories. I agree, cool to see the newer Economy baggage cars mixed with old baggage/mail equipment. Thanks Photobob, it's almost Friday now... Novato? Are they running passenger trains? I need to get out more often. I thought those green things were new Golden Gate transit buses. .. :-) Date: 04/26/18 02:50 Re: SP Train !9 the "Klamath"at Small Siding 1961 Author: KimHeusel Wow, excellent photo! Thanks for posting.

Date: 04/26/18 09:24 Re: SP Train !9 the "Klamath"at Small Siding 1961 Author: ATSF3751 The date must be 1962 or later. The Economy baggage cars are PC&F built from 1962.
