Nostalgia & History > Richmond Pacific Charter With WP 713, July 16, 2005Date: 05/23/18 20:10 Richmond Pacific Charter With WP 713, July 16, 2005 Author: FiveChime The Pacific Locomotive Association leased their former Western Pacific GP7 713 to industrial short line Richmond Pacific in 2005.
Henry Luna, one of the founding members of PLA, worked with Richmond Pacific to organize a unique excursion in July of 2005. Participants in this event got to ride in a RP extended vision caboose or in the cab of former WP GP7 713. 713 is now back in regular service on the Niles Canyon Railway and now has bright new shiny WP Perlman green and orange paint. The brick building that comes into view at the 2:32 point of the 2nd video was later deconstructed brick by brick. It took them some time to do it, but they eventually cleaned the lot off. Also looks like the new signals at Cutting Blvd aren't quite in service yet.
