Nostalgia & History > Thankful Thursday - USS 128Date: 05/24/18 04:09 Thankful Thursday - USS 128 Author: refarkas One of the best railfan spots in Alabama in the early 1970's was Ensley,Alabama. There was an open area near a highway bridge. Here a careful railfan could park and watch and/or photograph both a heavily used US Steel industrial line and the Birmingham Southern.
USS 128 and caboose F.W. X. 812 are just passing a signal at Ensley, Alabama in April 1974. USS 128 to the best of my knowledge is a Baldwin switcher re-engined with an EMD engine. She is set up for remote control. Bob Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/24/18 04:15 by refarkas. Date: 05/24/18 05:10 Re: Thankful Thursday - USS 128 Author: cornerfieldhobby Very nice photo. For some reason when I saw the thumbnail of the photo, I thought it was a UPS engine by the way the small photo and style looked.
