Nostalgia & History > Milwaukee Road FMs late in their livesDate: 05/25/18 04:23 Milwaukee Road FMs late in their lives Author: Korigaoka1811 I was happy indeed to find an H16-44 and an H12-44 at Council Bluffs in 1976. I imagine they had very little time left. Next time I visited Council Bluffs in 1978 there were only MP15ACs.

I had this shot in the extra pile, but as usual it has become a treasured memory. In 1976 I went to Milwaukee on a tip, and FM the switchers were making their last stand there. I will show them later. Thanks for the memory. I grew up on Fairbanks Morse on the B&O in Baltimore.

Driving home to Brookfield for the weekend, I happened upon the engine house of the Wisconsin & Calumet RR. They were operating some of the Waukesha-Madison original Milwaukee Rd route. I think it was outside of Genesee, WI. that there were several Fairbanks Morse engines sitting there. IIRC, it was out on country road, and it's a shame I never carried a camera back then. Gosh, it almost seems like a dream now. All those FM switchers sitting there. Date: 05/26/18 03:32 Re: Milwaukee Road FMs late in their lives Author: kgmontreal Always enjoy photos of F-M units.
