There is a Hudson in there too. When did the NKP beef up the bridges on this section of the NKP, WWII? so the Berks could run here? There are some H-5 Mikados in there too.

116 - Conneaut, OH 184 - Cleveland, OH 206 - Sheffield, OH 248 - Bellevue, OH More notes : On the 11/25 note, I think he was not real happy to be working on Thanksgiving! Looks like he took some time off to see the Cleveland Indians in the World Series in 1948. There's a 503 engine that may be a Geep. SLT = South Lorain Turn. CB12 was the hottest freight on the RR, Chicago - Buffalo. Alot of meat and perishables were shipped east from Chicago. Cleveland and Buffalo received much of their food through terminals served by NKP. IB64 came off the LE&W from Indianapolis, to Buffalo. Edited 2 time(s). ------------------------------------------------------- > There's a 503 engine that may be a Geep. Thanks for the additional notes. GP9 #503 was not delivered until 1956. It must have been wrecked early, because 2nd 503 was delivered in 1957. 503 may have been a unlucky locomotive number on the Nickel Plate. Steamer 503 was wrecked in a head-on with No. 627 at Cleveland on October 18, 1941. It apparently got returned to service as it was renumbered 952 in January 1956. I am still curious about the Knickerbocker. 5259 does not appear to be a NKP locomotive, but I believe NYC had a Hudson with that number. Jack Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/21/18 09:59 by ts1457. Date: 07/21/18 14:33 Re: Nickel Plate timebook memories Author: wabash2800 I'm thinking 503 was an H-5 Mikado and later the H-5s were remumbered to the 900 series when the first diesels came. But I stand to be corrected. Again, I'm not an NKP expert.
