These are GREAT shots!  The old riverfront running track and the L&N bridge from Newport are wonderful shots.  Thank you very much for posting them.

Agreed! I remember driving through the street running trackage going to Reds games in the 80s

For those that care, the DT&I 405 still exists as Northern Indiana Commuter Transit District (NICTD) 1000, rebuilt into a GP38-2. Intended for use on work trains, it also received high-speed passenger gearing so it can act as a rescue engine when the MUs shoot craps.

It occasionally gets loaned out to the Chicago South Shore freight operation, just to keep it limbered up. CSS crews I know tell me the high-speed gearing makes it a horrible puller compared to their own units, barely able top get out of its own way.
