Capitol Limited crew change at Perryville (MD)
Author: WM_1109

31 years ago yesterday…

Having traversed Conrail’s Port Road Branch, Amtrak 30(06), the eastbound Capitol Limited, is stopped on 09/07/1987 at 14:10 on the south leg of the wye at Perryville (MD) for a crew change. The train had been detoured via Harrisburg due to a 09/05/1987 derailment near Takoma Park on CSX’s (former B&O) Metropolitan Subdivision. AMTK F40PHR’s 375 and 361 are in charge of a mix of heritage and Amfleet equipment (including Baggage 1229, Baggage 1234, MPC 1442, Baggage 1245, Coach 4626, Coach 25093, et al), as the train enters the NEC at PERRY interlocking (mp 59.5) for the last leg of its trip to Washington, DC.
