Back in the 60s The Mississippian was well-known as the home of two nicely-maintained ex-SLSF (originally JLC&E) 2-8-0s. Both, 76 and 77, have operated in preservation, exist today, and at least 77 is still operable (as 41 on the Alberta Prairie Railway). When they dieselized I sort of lost interest and have not thought about the Mississippian in many years. I gather they are still in operation and still using the S-1 as their sole motive power.
