1. SD40T-2 SP 8300 in Oakland - On Wednesday October 17, 1984, SP SD40T-2 8300 is in the West Oakland Diesel Shop in Oakland, CA.
According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 8300 was built in 1974 by EMD as a model SD40T-2, builders number 73629-01, SP 8300, SP Class EF630-3.
This locomotive became UP 8663, renumbered in 2001.
The disposition of this locomotive is, retired in 2002, became Helm HLCX 6156.

2. The West Oakland Diesel Shop in Oakland, CA. On Wednesday October 17, 1984 there's an interesting mix of SP & D&RGW locomotives in the facility.
