Thanks for sharing these.
Truely enjoyable photos. Photo three is my favorite. The late date (1962) jumps out making this image a truely a historical treasure.

Note that the diesels are equipped with the DMIR high level air hoses, above the coupler.  Ore cars were "close coupled", and there was very little room for a switchman or a trainman to safely get between cars to couple air hoses.  To make it safer and easier, the trainline on ore cars was (and still is) mounted high, above rather than below the couplers.

Google maps shows the Eveleth depot still standing, but the caboose is no longer there.

No, the second hose up high is for the straight air Missabe and now CN use.
