Interesting location.
Not on the C&WI.
I am thinking it is the eastbound, morning departure, running compass west on the high line
somewhere between 47th St. and Elsdon.

Any other thoughts?

That was my first thught. Trying to figure out exactly where.

.......with a little thinking about it and checking against https://cdn.trainorders.com/attachments/fullsize/1019000/3_Elsdon_complete2.jpg and www.historicaerials.com, I think headed west at Kedzie near the roundhouse.

CNR & GTW had well proportioned Northerns. Your photo demonstrates this well. Thanks for sharing.

 The exact location of this train? I'll say it's westbound near California Ave. The large building to the left is Burton Spring, the building on the right is now Dimension Craft (49th & Rockwell) and the switches in the forground lead towards Central Steel.

Getting back to the actual photo, it's very nice---thanks for sharing it....
