Pretty short train for the SP.  You can see the caboose in the photo.  A normal SP train would have the caboose about a mile and a half behind the power.  This would be a local by SP standards.

It looks like the hot shot trailer train of the day, with a typical SP fill on the point.

That searchlight mast is ramrod straight.  They installed things very well back then.

Solid concrete going 6 feet down vs  prefab footing that's only 3 or 4 feet down.
