Nostalgia & History > "Hey, we're new here"Date: 12/16/18 18:25 "Hey, we're new here" Author: overniteman At CSX's Eastside yard, a pair of brand new CSX GE C40-8W's have locked couplers with a trio of EMD veteran's.
The RF&P GP40 & ex-Chessie GP40-2's look small next to the latest addtion to the roster. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. June, 1991. Date: 12/16/18 19:43 Re: "Hey, we're new here" Author: SCAX3401 Nice photo of what was then state-of-the-art power. Those GE are now older than the three EMD veterans were back then. More likely than not, those EMD's will still be pulling trains when those GE go to the scrapper, if they haven't already.

The two units ahead of it were a RF&P GP40 and GP40-2. The unit trailing it, nose to nose, was CSX #1066, a GP18... #1066 looked half the size of the C40-8W.
