Here's Amtrak #31 the National Limited passing through Villanova PA on May 26, 1975.

PC GG1 4893 leads one baggage, 2 sleepers, 1 diner and 3 coaches. Not sure how Amtrak provided snack service that shows in the timetable. All  looking dapper that day.

Maybe the car which provided snack service was in the Washington section of the National Limited which was combined with the New York section in Harrisburg.

As I recall the Washington section usually had an ex B&O blunt-end lounge observation car (Dana, Metcalf or Wawasee), so that wound be the lounge section.

The diner was the snack car at this point. 431 would meet this train at HBG. Perhaps my favorite old time Amtrak service.

I think you could get a hamburger in the diner passing through Villanova. By that time 431 would have been one coach meeting 31 at HBG. Good times back then and nothing but pleasant memories on 30/31. Great pic!
