Nostalgia & History > A CGW F-Unit Friday from Walt DunlapDate: 01/11/19 18:00 A CGW F-Unit Friday from Walt Dunlap Author: MartyBernard Look at the star on the sign post in the first photo. I didn't know what it was either. I asked Walt and he said it "was a flanger warning. If you are plowing snow, and you some how see it, you hoist up the between-the-rails flange blade to avoid taking out crossing materials."

I've been at that kind of derailment too. Not fun. And then the coup-de-grace on photo 6 - a hide car. You smell them before you see them! Thanks for sharing these.

TJY Date: 01/12/19 17:32 Re: A CGW F-Unit Friday from Walt Dunlap Author: wabash2800 Morning Sun also published an all color CGW book. I recognize some of the shots posted here in previous threads from the book. I sold my book at a premium, and I believe it is one of the better Morning Sun books. Morning Sun put an M&STL book out too that is pretty good in my opinion also.
