the as delivered scheme. During the what I called "GN hour" at GN Station in Minneapolis between eight and nine AM, one could see the "Gopher", "Dakotan", "Winnipeg Limited", and "Western Star" on adjacent tracks. I was always sorry I did not pack a camera at that time in the mid-60s. I heartily agree, Minnesota was a great place to grow up at that time. "As delivered", the E7's had the "Great Northern" spelled out in script across the nose. There are several publicity photos of this.
