Nostalgia & History > An F3 and Some GP's in Northern LouisianaDate: 01/16/19 18:30 An F3 and Some GP's in Northern Louisiana Author: BNSF-6432 While coming back north from Shreveport in December of 1980, my dad came across a northbound KCS train at Minden, LA where he shot it at a couple locations. I'm not real familiar with the area but as I understand, this is now the Louisiana Southern WATCO line.
1) KCS 4051 leads a GP9 and a GP7 through some rough track at the Minden, LA yard 12-80 2) North of Minden, 4051 rounds a slight curve as the EMD's fill the air with blue smoke. 3) An empty KCS flat is first in line behind the power likely heading for more lumber.
