Nostalgia & History > A Chicago Great Western DoodlebugDate: 01/16/19 21:20 A Chicago Great Western Doodlebug Author: MartyBernard Here is a surprise. Among Walt Dunlap's slides I found a duplicate slide of CGW Doodlebug 1009 in Richardson, IL on June 11, 1950, photographed by G. E. Lloyd. I went on a Google fishing trip and found this:
"1009 was built by Electro-Motive in December 1932, #506. The body was built by Pullman under order 6415. It was re-engined with a Sterling in 1947 scrapped at Oelwein in October 1953. " Source: https://donsdepot.donrossgroup.net/dr130.htm The duplicate slide was very red. The shot was taken in the late afternoon. I took out some red but didn't want to go any farther.
