Northbound at Eaton (Colorado)
Author: tolland

Here's another Eaton photo, taken in the late 1950's after Art bought his Kodak Signet camera. Anyway, an F-unit pair hauls a northbound train past the Eaton depot. The operator handing up the orders was a long time family friend who knew my family for decades, his name was Jackson W. Brown and I think he retired from UP in the 1960's. The Eaton depot was torn down in 1977. Eaton however remained a favorite with railfans and even the UP Steam Crew as the A&W restaurant there served root beer floats. I know for a fact that Lynn Nystrom was a big fan. The A&W was founded by railfan Ernie Peyton.
