UP Depots: Sedgwick, Colorado (JB line)
Author: tolland

One of the places where my family members worked was Sedgwick, Colorado. My dad never worked there that I can remember but he worked at nearby Ovid, Colorado. My uncle Jay Lemons worked as a telegrapher in this depot and no doubt witnessed the passing of the "City of Denver" and "Columbine" passenger trains. Art took this photo in 1939, I think. Now I doubt you can see any trace of this depot and the only train is a local to Sterling.

unless he worked a second or third trick he should not have seen 104, and hopefully not much of theĀ  103, any guess on how long this depot lasted on this former speedway?

The agency at Sedgwick was closed in the early sixty's, The depot building was moved to a ranch south of Sedgwick. I remember seeing the station sign, pictured in Jim's photo, at the Colorado Railroad Museum in GoldenĀ  years later..
