Pennsy Chicken Wire Fs?
Author: twropr

Having seen NKP715's great post of unusual NYC F units raises the question as to whether the PRR had any chicken wire F3s that  lasted long enough to be painted tuscon red with the single stripe.
Thanks!

PRR didn't paint any F3's or F7's tuscan red. Yes they did have "chicken wire" F3's.

They had some FP-7's in tuscan red for passenger train use.  I ony saw five stripe versions.  Used in freight service as well before and after repainting into Brunswick green.

Yes but an FP7 is not an F3 or F7.
