This one's going to take some explaining.....

1.  Hart's first stereo is titled:  TRESTLE IN CLIPPER RAVINE-  NEAR CLIPPER GAP
2.  The second stereo is titled:  ROAD AND TRESTLE-  NEAR LOVELL'S RANCH.   This stereo is labeled Watkins' Pacific Railroad, but it is actually Hart's photo-  Watkins' purchased and marketed them as his own.  (wanker)
These are both of the same location.
3.  This was about the best I could do, given all the trees and moved earth at the location.  Recognize the spot?  It's today's Tunnel 26, where the #2 track passes under the original CPRR Main.

4.  Here is a Google Earth aerial of the location, and I've marked where Hart shot from and where I stood today (to dodge the trees)
5.  This (not very good) photo is from the Railway Age Gazette, Feb 18, 1910.   It shows early work on the #2 Track.  This is the trestle in Hart's stereo.
6.  This (not any better) photo is of the nearly completed Tunnel 26.

7.  Today.

Like the T26 angle. Very interesting with a long telephoto as a train comes out of 24, semi telly for 25 and normal for 26

Nice sleuthing, SR! Given that you have already come up with the term necrophoamin, I judge it is incumbent upon you to come up with a more concise term for these before-and-after things. Sorry, I haven't had enough coffee yet to come up with suggestions.
