If that was the trip with Mark and myself I believe the location would be the curve at the bottom of Tacoma Hill next to the Candy factory. Don't remember exactly what happened, I don't have a photo at that spot. There may have been something going on about how fast they would take that curve.

Candy factory to the left and the old MILW frieght house to the right. The track took a little dip before it started up the Hill.  The bridge was removed and replace with a culvert.

I lived a few blocks further up, where 43rd St. crosses "Milwaukee Gulch", about 30 years before you took the photo. About all I remember is steam locos cutting through the gloom, lots of gloom, as they plodded up the hill. But your photo makes it all, for want of a better word, pretty. I never would have thought...
