Freight Cars from Little Known Railroads, Part 15 -- Ed Zarfoss

1. Amador Central Railroad Boxcar in Minot, ND in December 1983.  The Amador Central Railroad is a standard gauge railroad that operated 11.8 miles between a connection with the Southern Pacific Company at Ione and Martell near the town of Jackson, California. (Wikipedia)

2. Louisiana Midland Boxcar NOKL 88127 in Minot, ND in August 1982.  The ARR Reporting Mark NOKL belolngs to the Northwesten Oklahoma Railroad. The Louisiana Midland Railway, was a Class III railroad operating in the US state of Louisiana.  See for more details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisiana_Midland_Railway

3. Louisiana Midland Loam Car NOKL 2513 in Rivers, Manitoba in May 1981.  Loam is a soil with roughly equal proportions of sand, silt, and clay.

4. Pacific Great Eastern Boxcar  PGE 5353 in September 1979. BC Rail, known as the British Columbia Railway between 1972 and 1984 and as the Pacific Great Eastern Railway before 1972, was a railway that operated in the Canadian province of British Columbia between 1912 and 2004. (Wikipedia)

5. Pacific Great Eastern Bulkhead Flat Car PGE 1075 in January 1981.

6. St. Lawrence Railroad Boxcar NSL 100502 in January 1981.  The St. Lawrence & Raquette River (Reporting Marks: SLRR & NSL) was a shortline railroad operating in upstate New York. It operated a freight service from Norfolk, New York south to Norwood where it connected with Conrail. The line then proceeded west to Ogdensburg for 31.2 miles. The line operated about 1,000 cars per year carrying salt, lumber, recyclables, paper, ore, kaolin, and lubricating oils.  Source: https://www.trovestar.com/generic/zoom.php?id=137209
