Interesting a construction  company would buy such a heavy switcher. Usually it’s a critter engine. Did that company have a large quarry operation?

Hunkin-Conkey was a heavy construction company (11th largest in the US at one time) and had many large engineering projects (breakwaters, piers, dams, sports facilities and other public works projects.) They are no longer in business, but existed for 70 years.
