Nostalgia & History > Switcher Saturday -Date: 05/18/19 18:36 Switcher Saturday - Author: overniteman This ALCo S1 was originally built for Hunkin-Conkey Contruction of Cleveland, Ohio in 1941 as #1002
It then went to the US Army as 1002 then later 7371. It's seen here at the Western Pa. Railroad Historical Society, New Castle, Pennsylvania. January, 2000. Date: 05/18/19 20:37 Re: Switcher Saturday - Author: miralomarail Thanks for posting that photo, just in time for Memorial Day

CM80.46 Date: 05/19/19 10:36 Re: Switcher Saturday - Author: EL3600 Hunkin-Conkey was a heavy construction company (11th largest in the US at one time) and had many large engineering projects (breakwaters, piers, dams, sports facilities and other public works projects.) They are no longer in business, but existed for 70 years.
