I believe that chop nosed Alco (or a sister unit) ended up in Salem NJ in later life.

I rode a trip on the LVRC with Ken Coombs and a few other guys in the mid to late 70's. IIRC it backed to the east end of the Swanton covered bridge (condemned for traffic at the time) and then traversed the whole LVRC to St J. If I'm not mistaken the trip "originated" at St J via a bus ride from there to Sheldon Junction or Highgate (maybe even the eastern environs of Swanton) where we boarded. I think we also backed down the branch to the CV at Fonda Jct. We moved at a pretty good clip on the west end, but east of Morrisville the track had not been upgraded and we crawled to our terminus.

1-22 April 1978 the 7802 and 7801, RS-3, Lamoille Valley (LVRC) units headed to their enginehouse at Morrisville, Vermont.  Wonderful Vermont financed operation in northern Vermont that has faded into history. 

2-LVRC 7801 & 7802 with freight at the Fisher's Bridge Covered Bridge the re-enforced bridge (steel beams installed undernearth the rails) that remains in place on the trail at Wolcott, Vermont.  It was difficult to find a train in daylight at this location (at least during my attempts).
